Colin Burnett - What is a Blog?

  • Interact with those who comment on your blog. A blog is a two-way medium, and interacting with commenters can advance the discussion and give you new ideas for posts. If you use your blog for marketing, it can help you to resolve customer complaints, sometimes more quickly than through traditional customer service channels.

  • What is a Blog? - Avoid writing blogs about subjects you have no interest in or know nothing about. It will reflect in your writing and you could possibly come across as uninformed in you are unsure of what you are writing about. Your readers will love to utilize these tips in their own homes and lives instead of merely reading about your life.

  • Write posts in advance that you can use when you are busy or just can't come up with a new topic. We all have those days that we are on a roll and the words are just flowing. Take advantage of those days and write some posts that you can stash away for a rainy day. Use those posts when you need to take some time off.

  • An easy thing to do, that will assist your readers review pertinent material in your blog, is to include bullet points. These not only aid the reader in scanning, but will also break up your entry into a more easy to read piece. Make your bullets bold to enhance the ease of use as well.

  • Make sure your posts don't elicit the "It's too long so I didn't read it" response from your readers. Studies show that people stop paying attention more quickly when reading on the web than they do when reading print. For this reason, try to keep posts under 300 words or so. Some types of posts, such as scholarly articles, don't suffer from this loss of attention of much as others, so know your audience.

  • Add content to your blog several times each week. Strive to maintain a regular posting schedule, and dedicate yourself to adhere to it. Doing so will give your visitors ample content to read. Consistent posts will keep people returning to your site, if you keep it interesting and informative.

  • Decrease your clutter! Blog readers are not interested in overwhelming amounts of unnecessary or unrelated distractions on your page. This draws the attention away from the primary focus of the blog; your writing. In the interest of keeping readers, keep the clutter to a minimum and live by that rule.

  • Make sure that your blog posts are structured well in order to make scanning easier. Make use of lists, header tags, and more. Keep in mind that the average reader is not going to want to read sentences and paragraphs that are really long. Therefore, you should make them as short and to the point as possible.

The Most Popular Blog Sites 2015

What are the best and most popular blog sites this year?

A blog is something that can only benefit you and not hurt you, most of the time that is. Once you establish a presence online via blog you then create more potential followers for you and your business that you didn't previously have. You see there is much to gain when you create a blog, so read through this article and see how blogging can help you.

You should be adding new content to your blog on a daily basis. If you want to keep your site prominent with the search engines, then you must be continually post new entries. Make sure that what you write is actually useful, not just a lot of fluff to say that you made some kind of entry.

Check out this video I made about this

Popular Blog Sites 2015

Make sure to post content regularly to keep your readers coming in. A quality blog has at least one post per day. Daily posts can seem overwhelming, but give yourself a head start and prepare several weeks worth of posts before beginning your blog. This will mean that you still have some content to post even if you have a day when you can't write anything.

Popular Blog Sites - Structure your posts so the reader can simply scan them to catch the gist. Those who read blogs are, as a rule, an impatient bunch. They flip back and forth between pages practically at the speed of light. If you want to get your message across, give them something that will catch their attention with just a quick scan.

Keep your stress level down to a minimum. If you are too stressed, you will not be able to write very well. Ideas will not come easily, as your mind will be on what you are stressed about. Take some time out of your day to participate in some relaxation activities.

Some of the most popular blog sites....

Make sure that you are blogging for the right reasons. If you are looking for some quick money, this is not the way to go. Blogging should be more of a hobby. If it becomes something that you start to dread, your writing will not be very good, and you will have less readers.

Be sure to use a dictionary when writing content. This is a key for a lot of popular blog sites. There are many online, or even desktop-based dictionaries out there that you can use. This can be very useful when searching for synonyms or other words. Brushing up on proper English can be beneficial to both native speakers and non-native speakers alike.

If you are wanting to run a potentially profitable blog, you should ensure that your niche is one that is very marketable to others. Although it's important to select a topic that interests you, you can't simply go by that because some topics aren't very marketable. This is fine if you don't care about making money with your blog. Otherwise, marketability is extremely important.

Read other blogs in related fields. This will give you an idea of how others are blogging successfully, and may give you ideas on how to improve your own blog. You may also find people willing to guest blog on your site. Remember not to plagiarize the content of other blogs.

Take time to read over your blog. This step tends to be ignored quite often. You have to be the first reader. Whenever you have some free time, try reading some of your older posts. It can really help you see what you can do to improve with your posts in the future.

Now that you have read through this article, you should now have a much better idea about what you want to do when it comes to blogging, in order to become successful at building an online presence. So get started sooner than later, because when you do, you give yourself the opportunity to have followers sooner than later, as well.

Thanks for reading my post about popular blog sites

New Ways How To Promote Your Blog in 2015

How to Promote Your Blog - Here Of Some Secret Tips Right From The Blogging Masters!

A blog is where you get to voice what you have to say online. You have the ability to post things people can see online at any time. If you want people to see you, you need to know more about how to promote your blog.

If you want to be heard, then blogging should by right up your alley. Browse through the tips in this article and see how blogging can be fun for you.

Have a look at this video I shot...

Colin Burnett - Just how do you promote your blog in 2015

Once your blog is established, have some guest posters write posts for your blog. This gives readers a fresh new perspective on your niche and allows you to benefit from knowledge you might not have. If you use your blog for marketing, you can use guest blogging as a promotional tie-in. Ask to guest post on other popular blogs in exchange for promoting your blog, while allowing others to do the same on your blog.

Set goals for your blog. Having set goals that you want to achieve will go along way towards increasing your productivity. Decide how many posts you want to make in a given week. Determine what your focus is going to be and what keywords you are going to be targeting. Taking the time to work out your goals, will keep you on focus and blogging productively.

Make use of images within your posts often. Remember, a picture really is worth more than a thousand written words. For blog content, this is definitely the case. Images are sometimes able to communicate with your viewers more than words alone. Therefore, make sure images are included as much as you possibly can.

Pay attention to what font you are using, the text size you choose, the color scheme you have in place and the title of your blog. All of these different factors affect how easily people can read what you have written. You want to make your blog user-friendly to everyone.

Add content to your blog several times each week. Strive to maintain a regular posting schedule, and dedicate yourself to adhere to it. Doing so will give your visitors ample content to read. Consistent posts will keep people returning to your site, if you keep it interesting and informative.

Whenever possible, utilize header tags in order to separate particular sections of your blog posts. All the different tags that you should use are H1, H2, and H3 tags. In addition, you should ensure that you are using excellent search engine keywords whenever you can in all these different headers.

how to promote your blog

Give your readers the opportunity to subscribe to your blog and your RSS feed. When people can have good content delivered hot and fresh, you increase your value to them ten fold. Keep the subscribe button in an easy to find place and deliver good content regularly to dissuade readers from discontinuing.

Consider making posts that contain fun lists, like a "top ten," or whatever number you desire. You can do this on a regular basis, enticing your readers to see what interesting list you conceive next. You can use bullets or numbers, with links to greater content included in each one.

Use the first sentence in each paragraph to make the main point of that paragraph. This is an old trick in journalism, a trick from back in time when the point of an article was to actually provide information. Using this approach in your blog will facilitate the needs of those that like to skim a page for the most important content.

As you have now learned, there is actually a lot to learn when it comes to blogging. All truly successful bloggers use all of the knowledge they've learned to their advantage. If you hope to be successful, then seek and apply as much knowledge you can when you blog.

Thankyou for reading my blog about how to promote your blog.

Cool Marketing Blogs

The world we live in today is completely different as opposed to 10 years ago, today people are always online, which makes having a presence online that much more appealing for business to have. If you wish to build an online presence through blogging then the knowledge from this article should help.

So try writing a few practice blog posts. Write about something interesting to you. If you enjoy writing, then blogging may be for you!

Check out this video I shot about Marketing Blogs

Use the correct spam filter for comments. If you require registration to comment, a CAPTCHA on the registration page is usually sufficient to keep spammers away. If you allow anonymous comments, an "advanced CAPTCHA," that is, one that asks the user for "the number of hours in a day" or something similar is usually enough. Avoid services like Akismet, as these produce lots of false positives.

Post content that will be relevant to your readers. Instead of blogging about your everyday life, offer tips and tricks to your readers to go along with your life such as recipes or travel tips. Your readers will love to utilize these tips in their own homes and lives instead of merely reading about your life.

Make your blog stand out. Stick with interesting, unique content. Information which is tough to find has the same effect. Try to post about unusual pastimes or knowledge. Give details of how widgets are made. Give readers a reason to come to your site when they need information.

When you decide to begin a blog, be certain that the topic is something that you find engaging and that ignites your desire to share with others. Writing the content of your blog will take several hours each week. You want to be certain that you have a passion for the subject.

You can have an excellent blog that would target an audience and bring in many readers, but without a great domain name you have nothing. Keep the domain name for your blog simple yet direct and effective. Think about your target niche, and choose the appropriate domain name for your blog as if you were thinking hard about a great title.

Use empty space to improve visual interest in your page. There is a reason why those who produce hard copy material abide by certain formatting rules. Margins, spacing between lines and blocks of text, and even spacing between sentences is important to the overall visual effect of your blog.

Take time to read over your blog. This step tends to be ignored quite often. You have to be the first reader. Whenever you have some free time, try reading some of your older posts. It can really help you see what you can do to improve with your posts in the future.

Hopefully you now have a better grasp of blogging and how it can help you in the world we live in today. Just remember to always be on the look out for new information about blogging as this world is changing at a rapid pace which makes keeping up with the latest trends and pieces of information beneficial.

How To Make Money Blogging

Hey there, how are you today?

Before I talk too much about how to make money blogging...let me introduce myself.

Who am I?

My name is Colin Burnett and I come from the sunshine state, Queensland in Australia. I have travelled a lot in the last few years to places like Europe, the UK, the USA, Asia and South Africa.

My life wasn't always like that though. I come from a farming background. Until I was about 23 I lived in the outback working for my family's farm. I spent 5 years away at a boarding school for my high school.

That lifestyle was good but the trouble was I always looked for something more. I wanted to see the world! It was a big dream/goal for me and yeh it just didn't happen for a long time. It took me meeting a girl and travelling through Australia a bit before I really made the decision to hit the road.

Since that, life is crazy really. I mean I still spend a lot of time in the outback and stuff looking around and working but I also have other travel goals and also business goals.

You see, travel allowed me to find my calling in life. I realized that I was interested in business and money. I was also interested in other people and I want to help them! I want to empower people and make them believe in themselves.

So that is the first part of my story. You can check out my story here as well. There are a few different topics I want to talk about today, with the main one being how to make money blogging.

I have a few different blogs and all are about finance and personal development. Why not be the best version of yourself as you can be!

How to Make Money Blogging - Beginners Guide

So if you have come this far, you will be very keen to learn more about blogging.

First of all, if you don't know, a blog is like an online diary. It is a bit different from a website because it is updated a lot.

So you can blog about anything and also use different techniques to get a lot of people to your blog. this is the first step on how to make money blogging.

The main thing is you need to monetize your visitors. You need to get out there and sell them something. The trick is though that you have to give them a lot of value in your products or service. Over deliver!

So there are a lot of ways to monetize your blog and I have a complete overview here.

How To Make A Blog

How to Make a Blog - Easy Steps

How exactly do you make a blog?

Firstly...what is a blog? Well a blog is like an online diary. People use blogs to get their thoughts out there. It is basically just like a website except you update it a lot more often. There are a lot of ways you can create a blog post but it is mainly just typing.

So Let's go into a few easy steps on how to make a blog exactly.

Blog Creation Step 1

If you are going to blog, you will need a platform. It is just like a website, you need software to create the whole deal. There are a lot of options for this as well but there are a lot of main ones out there.

Blogger, Wordpress and the Kalatau blogging platform are all leaders. They are all fairly easy to use as well. Kalatau is probably the easiest for beginners and offers a lot of training and incentives for just $25 a month.

I actually use all 3 platforms but Wordpress and Blogger are good as well. Blogger is owned by Google so maybe favored and completely free. Wordpress is really cheap to run a year but needs some tech knowledge to set up.

So spend a bit of time deciding what platform to choose for your first blog. You can't really go wrong with any of those three.

Step 2

Set up your style. I wouldn't spend long on this. Just set up your blog and choose how you want it to look. It really doesn't matter as much as you would think. I see heaps of really basic blogs succeeding and really junky looking blogs sucking. It is more about how good the content is when learning how to make a blog.

Step 3

Start putting posts up. Maybe you can write a few pages like 'about me' and 'what do I do' before you lie to start but posts are important. Learning how to write a SEO optimized post is really cool. This means that you have a way better chance of ranking your posts. By ranking I mean being found on Googles' searches.

Keywords are something you need to learn about in this process. You need to know what your potential customers search for and then write about that particular keyword. This is only if you want to get found and not really for hobby blogs.

Step 4

Promote your blog and talk to your customers. Get your blog posts out there and really draw a lot of people in. Promotion can be done in so many ways. The really popular thing to do today is to share on social media. There are so many platforms but we all know the main ones.

This is often free but just takes your time. So you can get a lot of people in front of your blog very easily.

Other ways are paid traffic, word of mouth, offline marketing, email, blog commenting and posting.

Once you get people commenting and sharing your blog, interact with them. Be good at this, reply often and be prompt. It really is cool once you get people giving good feedback.

So that is my take on how to make a blog and I hope you got a lot from it.

I want you to succeed and put a lot of work together to make that happen.

I have a lot more info available here.

In the end though, It is up to you.

Cheers,

Colin

P.s. I really can't motivate you I'm sorry. I have been through the whole deal where I was with the wrong girl or something like that and things didn't happen for me. Well if you have some excuse, you just have to do something for yourself. You only live once and it can't always be with the wrong person.

What I am saying is do what you are passionate about and you will be successful. Also get a team around you who are helping you and lifting you up.

Bless and be blessed!!

Blogging for Dummies

Blogging for Dummies - Guide To..

Hey there, my name is Colin Burnett and welcome to my blogging for dummies guide. Hope you are well today and ready to get going with this stuff.

Blogging isn't a new thing but making money from a blog is a fairly new idea. There are basically a thousand ways to do that. There are also a lot of different reasons to blog so we will go into that.
I will start with a video to introduce you to this topic....

Colin Burnett - Training for Blogging for Dummies.

Enjoy the vid? I know, it really was fairly short. It was shot in my gma's back yard here in QLD Australia.

I really do enjoy being home but like to get around and see a few things as well. So there is reason to keep growing my business, which I can work on anywhere in the world basically.

As Dave Wood would strongly advise, get a really big goal for your future and just focus on that. That will give you the motivation through the tough times to really get out there and kick some serious butt.

So let's get back to blogging for dummies. I have decided to go through a few really good pointers here and then close this thing up!

Point 1

Get a good platform. Get out there and really study a few different platforms and see what suits you. This really is a good point for blogging for dummies. Click through here to see what type of platforms I use. Get this done as a definite first step and then get things happening.

There are a lot of different options depending on your tech ability and what you actually want to do with your blog.

Point 2

Work out what you want to blog about. You really need to blog about your passion or you will not succeed. It is as simple as that. You will just lose motivation and put simple things together. You won't provide a great quality product and success will be difficult.

This point is a big one because I really did this once. I thought I could outsource all of the work for a website but it turns out I couldn't/

Point 3

Get help with writing posts. Set up a few pages as well then smash out some posts. You can't harm your blog by writing bad pages but you are wasting time as well.

So get some good training, like on my blog, use it to your advantage.

This can't be understated too.

Point 4

Promote the crap out of it. There are a ton of on and off page seo techniques that you can use to promote your blog. You really do need to be fairly careful as well though that you don't stuff things up.

That's why you need great training and go to my blog to get that. I also have some great YouTube videos on the topic.

Anyway, I wish you all the success in the world and will see you in my next post. Check back often for new, great, FREE tips!

Cheers,
Colin Burnett

Affiliate Marketing for Beginners

Is there a complete guide to affiliate marketing for beginners out there?

The answer is no, probably not! The reason is probably that it is such a big area. I mean it is everywhere. It also covers so many topics. Let me explain a bit more about that in this video below.

Colin Burnett - Affiliate Marketing for Beginners

So let's delve right into this interesting area right away!!

Here are some popular areas of affiliate marketing explained. They all involve selling other peoples products to earn a commission.

Video Marketing

Videos are a great way to connect to people. As you see above, through that video, you kind of get to know me. You will see my personality and instantly know if you would like me or hate me. I don't mean to be that blunt really lol but it often simply is like that.

If you listen to a guy like David Wood too, he will say you will like him more and more as you keep watching videos. It was like that for me. He genuinely is a nice guy and once you give him a chance, you can see he means well and works hard to get people results.

This way is also fairly cheap and using platforms like YouTube, you can get a lot of traction quickly. There is obviously a lot of training needed for that though and you can see a guide on my blog here.

Email Marketing

This technique involves getting peoples details and using them to talk to these people. It really is an ethical way to talk to your potential and actual customers. It is easy for them to unsubscribe (generally) and if they don't want to see your stuff they can just black list it.

You will need to spend some money however on auto-posters and training. It is a way to keep in contact with customers for life. Some common auto-responders are Aweber and Getresponse

affiliate marketing for beginners

Social Media Marketing

This is a very popular training topic for affiliate marketing for beginners right now. This technique can be free requiring a lot of work or free and automated. Things like YouTube and Facebook PPC are really popular and you can reach a lot of the right people really quickly.

There are other techniques like messaging warm leads on Facebook and also tweeting your news. As with a lot of this stuff, you can start teaching what you have learnt and you can quickly gain a customer base that way. Maybe you always use this technique without thinking about it !?!?!

Blogging

Blogs are just on-line diaries. That statement is a thing of the past really. Blogs are something a lot different to that. You can do so many things with blogs. Firstly they are great things to keep communicating with your followers! Secondly they can get you seen a lot more online if you do the right thing. For affiliates, you can post links to your products and give great value as well.

Paid Advertising

This is probably the quickest way to build your business. If you have or find a great source to get people to your offer, you will have success quickly.

So, I hope you enjoyed my guide to Affiliate marketing for beginners. The key to success is to pick one or two techniques above and get good at it. For example, I am a blogger and part time video guy. That's it. FOCUS!

Cheers,

Colin Burnett

IPAS System Review!

Hello and Welcome to my IPAS System Review.

Let's look at a few things about this company today. Hopefully you walk away with a clear understanding of what this company actually is and can do for you.

So what exactly is IPAS?

IPAS is a brainchild of Internet Entrepreneur Chris Jones. Chris knows what he's doing and has been online a long time.

After being a professional athlete, he went on to earn over one million dollars in commissions with Empower Network. Chris wanted to take the bugs out of some programs he is affiliated with and therefore came up with the IPAS system.

Quick Video - What is IPAS?

So let's move on to some more detail about this new system.

The first thing you are offered when you join is a free membership. This is an idea that has created a win win situation for a lot of people. This means that you can check out the system for a while before you have to go sinking any money into it at all.

This is also a great advantage if you are an affiliate of the system. You will statistically gain more leads because people are willing to take on the free trial rather than pay cash upfront.

Once that is done, you can then upgrade to the basic, premium and higher up memberships.

These are for people who really are serious about getting what they want in life. THey are serious about making a lot of money with this business.

Other great advantages of IPAS are coaching, traffic sources and the training that works right now.

Want more Information?

Click here to go to one of my personal blogs and see the positives and negatives of IPAS for yourself.

Basically it comes down to your passion, will power and commitment as to whether you succeed or not. It really is that simple. Sometimes things just seem to fall into place for people but the truth is that they might put a lot of work into their success.

So if you really want to live the Internet lifestyle, IPAS is an opportunity for you. There is no income guarantees with them obviously as it is a business opportunity. Their disclaimer is at the bottom of their webpage .

I look forward to your success and hearing from you in the future.

Cheers,

Colin Burnett
